be selfish

what is it to be selfish? what comes to your mind? what feelings do you have around being selfish?

i challenge you to have positive feelings about being selfish and to become incredibly selfish.

being selfish is prioritizing you, what’s most important to you, and most importantly taking care of you. when you take care of you, you are more available to care and give to others. you are able to be present in the moment.

have you ever done what i have (and still do at times) – run around to get things done for you and others in your family, and when you think you are going to sit down and relax a little you remember a list of household chores you “need” to get done and family “needs” that only you can do?

it leaves me feeling depleted with no energy for myself or for others, i’m not able to give to those most important to me (including myself) what i truly want to give – being fully present.

stop doing all those “need to-dos” and become selfish. add selfishness into your life to become more, and be able to give more.  prioritize yourself for 5 minutes, 10 minutes, an hour, a whole day. prioritizing yourself reinvigorates and rejuvenates you.

you will be able to be fully present for yourself and for the other people most important in your life. and those pesky “need to-dos” get done too and don’t seem so pesky anymore.

what is it that you can do to become selfish? what have you wanted to do and haven’t done lately? take a walk, soak in the tub, read a book, go fishing, play a favorite game, get a massage, go out for coffee, enjoy a favorite hobby, enjoy a favorite sport, take a nap…

what do you want from your relationships? your friendships, marriage, family, personal acquaintances, business acquaintances, people you meet on the street and may or may not great. what do you want from your relationship with yourself?

the things that you want from your different relationships; love, trust, openness, laughter, silliness, support, motivation, encouragement, vulnerability, candid, adventure, patience, understanding, listening, non-judgement, acceptance, giving, fun, growth, inspired, excitement, safety, comfort. do you know what these things are?

what do you want from the people in your relationships? are you being what you expect them to be? give yourself the gift of being who you want people in your relationships to be.

how much of life do i and should i base off of my feelings? and thoughts? what should i listen to when i am making choices for the moment and the life that i want to live?

trust my instincts, my intuition, and let my inner being guide me.

go to my center and connect to myself where I am whole and complete. from this space, this is the space that i can trust. this is the space in me that knows what i want. it is this space that doesn’t judge and doesn’t expect.

from this inner being space i am guided to live the life that i want to live. a life of happiness and wellbeing. a life of my own journey and adventures. a life of fulfillment.

how do i know i am connected to my center, my inner being and not listening to my feelings and thoughts, but being guided by my true inner being?

i feel a calm, loving, positive energy when i am connected to my center, my inner being. being connected to my center i am free from overwhelm and stress. connected to my center i am free from judging and free from expecting.

connected to my center i trust myself that i am guiding myself to creating and experiencing the life that i want. from my center i feel love in all that i do, i feel love in the ebbs and flows that are my experiences of my life journey.

always questions

am i being who i want to be? what do i want? what is most important to me?

i haven’t been experiencing and sharing and being and doing in all that’s important to me like i want to.

i became so focused on living life that i forgot to live life. i forgot to enjoy life and to share life.

i created this bubble around me to only let in so much. i wasn’t allowing myself to fully experience. i wasn’t allowing myself to fully be who i want to be. i wasn’t allowing myself to fully do what i want to do. and that was limiting my experiences.

part of this bubble was created because of expectations of myself to be not perfect… but yet perfect in every way, in all areas of life. i lost touch with the growth and expansion that i expect from life and that i truly enjoy from life. i got caught up in, ‘this is what i want, so i want it now’. my wanting to be all these different things, i got lost in the being and the doing and i wasn’t experiencing life.

time to pop the bubble and begin being and doing, with all the experiences of the bumps, twists and turns, failing and trying again, and experience life. experiencing all of life fully and not just a little bubble of life of limitation.

life ripples

there are things that i want that confuse me. they are separate things, but related and part of my whole being. I go back and forth, and up and down in my thoughts. being influenced from all the pieces of me, the pieces of each of my life areas.

the things that i want effect each other. the things that i want are constantly changing with my experiences and thoughts.

imagine a smooth lake and it begins to rain. all the droplets are one small piece of you from an area of your life. the droplet ripples out and expands, touching and joining with all the other droplets ripples becoming one. effecting and changing each other, becoming whole as new droplets continue falling and adding new experiences.

what are you confused about? what are you going back and forth, and up and down with your thoughts about? are you aware of your thoughts and how they are changing your wants?

what is the whole being that the small pieces of you are creating? how are you growing and expanding with your life experiences and thoughts?

when was the last time you took a risk?

risk is a part of life for growth, expansion and living life fully.

taking risk is pushing your comfort zone, it is expanding your boundaries to include and explore more in your life.

when you are living life on the edge and expanding, you will be more fulfilled and enjoy your life journey more fully.

is it scary to step out into the unknown? not knowing where the safety net is, or if there even is a safety net. the feeling of being scared to experience something new is a good feeling. it is an indication that you are growing and expanding.

where can you take a risk today? what is something new that you can do and experience? take the risk.

lost in thought. lost in dream. i love visualizing and imagining. when i visualize and imagine i connect to me inner being and connect to my dreams and desires.

visualizing and imagining creates new ideas and new thoughts to explore what i want. who i want to be, what i want to do and what i want to experience.

curiosity

are you curious about life? are you curious about YOUR life?

curiosity is a way to stay connected to the important people in your life as well as being aware of what’s most important to you in the present.

  • who do you want to be?
  • what do you want to do?
  • what do you want to experience?
  • what’s your favorite thing to do currently?
  • what’s something new that you want to try?

as we live and experience life we are continually growing and expanding. who we want to be, what we want to do and what we want to experience changes with our experiences.

being curious allows us to open to new awareness to connect with what is most important to us now. thinking about and connecting to what we want, we continue growing and expanding instead of slowing down or stopping altogether.

it is normal in life to come to a plateau, it is when we reach a plateau in an area of our life that we can bring curiosity in and explore what we now want.

are there plateaus in your life currently? is there an area of your life that you are feeling stuck or ‘out of sorts’ with?

get curious, ask yourself some questions about all of life or a certain area of your life:

  • what makes me happy?
  • who do i want to be?
  • what do i want to do and experience?
  • what is important to me?
  • what do I enjoy doing?

allow curiosity in your life to help you live your life fully. allow curiosity to be aware of who you want to be, what you want to do and what you want to experience so that you are creating the life that you want to live.

You First

Do you please other first? or yourself first?

Pleasing others before yourself and trying to make others happy is something that many people do. It is most important to do what pleases you and what is in alignment with your values. Doing what’s most important to you gives you energy and enthusiasm to do what you want for others. Doing what’s most important to you is taking care of yourself so that you can take care of the most important people in your life.

Pleasing yourself first is a small difference, but a very significant difference. Giving yourself some pleasure, just starting with 5 minutes a day, gives you a boost of energy and enthusiasm for the other activities you choose for your life. When you put yourself first, the activities you have chosen remain a joy to you, and don’t become a burden and a weight on your shoulders.

Do something for yourself each day. You can begin with taking 5 minutes for something that you enjoy. What do you enjoy? Is it reading, yoga, drawing, dancing, sitting silently with coffee, connecting to the Earth outside, writing, sewing, doing a puzzle, chatting with a friend, finding a new recipe on the internet, or learning to juggle? Choose something you enjoy and do it for 5 minutes today.

when i’m connected i feel positive high energy. i feel abundance. i feel love, i feel joy. i feel energy enthusiasm and excitement. i feel gratitude. i feel love flowing through me and to me.
