connecting

one of my favorite things to do is kayak. i have a favorite spot that i like to go. i paddle out, enjoying all the water and trees surrounding me.

my mind wanders as i paddle. my thoughts focused and sporadic.

i paddle through the narrows and come into a small outlet that is surrounded by trees. i see green above the water, i see green below the water. the water is clear and smooth.

my mind quiets. i connect to my inner being.

i sit

i float

i think

i relax

i let go

i allow

i connect to me

i listen

i connect to all that is

i be

these moments are my time. my time to connect to myself. to be real with myself. to be aware of what’s most important to me. to be aware of my deepest dreams and desires.

it is these moments that i connect and become aware of what i need to let go, what i need to allow. who i’m being. who i want to be. what i’m doing. what i want to do. what i’m experiencing. what i want to experience. how i’m living. how i want to live. what i’m creating. what i want to create.

what do you do to create the space to connect to yourself? where is it that your mind is energized and serene? where is it that you have moments of awareness for your being? for your dreams and desires? where is it that you let to and allow?

enjoy your moments. connect to you. be.

why do i feel that i need to be there for everyone else and when i need someone i feel weak? i feel little?

i turn and hide, run away

i need to give the gift of letting someone love me, letting someone lift me up

open up and be vulnerable

let them see me, let me see me

is it harder to show myself to others, or is it harder to show myself to myself?

all of me, exposed and naked, down to my inner core

more and more i see. more and more i let myself be seen

do you run and hide?

do you open up and be vulnerable?

who do you reach out to?

do you let them see you naked and vulnerable?

be seen, give the gift, love yourself!

is it in your home? a specific room in your home?

is it a favorite place you go, or another home you visit?

where is home in your body? when do you feel the most peace and love? is home a place, or is home in your heart and you take it with you?

i can name a place that i am the most “at home” feeling. i love to be there and go as often as i can.

what about that particular place makes me feel “home”? love, being connected, quiet, tranquility, nature, relaxed, positive energy, no distractions, being in the flow.

Going Within

I enjoy sitting quietly and going deep within, connecting with myself and becoming aware. I learn about who I currently am and I receive an awareness of who I want to be. And I grow, I become who I want to BE!

I learn about myself from books that I read, nature and journaling – new ideas and questions are given to me from the Universe. I am able to let go of my daily tasks and routines, I get immersed in the new information, I get lost in nature surrounding me, I freely journal and connect with myself.

When I read a book I am able to let go and immerse myself in the information I am learning and acquire new knowledge. So often while reading a question is given me from the book itself or my own thoughts. I am able to use the question to look within myself and know myself. A new idea to challenge me, a different point of view to look from and consider.

I enjoy nature and being outdoors. When I am able to slip away to explore and be surrounded by nature I do. I experience a feeling of oneness, of wholeness, with the trees, water, animals, stars and Universe. My mind quiets, opens to awareness, my thoughts and ideas come from nature to teach me, to compare life in nature to my life.

I open my journal to write freely my thoughts, ideas, questions, old thoughts I’ve been thinking and new thoughts from the present moment. As I journal, more is open to me, my awareness expands, new ideas and new questions. I write and new ideas, new thoughts and new questions are given to me.

Reading, nature and journaling guide me within myself to experience and enjoy expanded awareness.
