what is it to be selfish? what comes to your mind? what feelings do you have around being selfish?

i challenge you to have positive feelings about being selfish and to become incredibly selfish.

being selfish is prioritizing you, what’s most important to you, and most importantly taking care of you. when you take care of you, you are more available to care and give to others. you are able to be present in the moment.

have you ever done what i have (and still do at times) – run around to get things done for you and others in your family, and when you think you are going to sit down and relax a little you remember a list of household chores you “need” to get done and family “needs” that only you can do?

it leaves me feeling depleted with no energy for myself or for others, i’m not able to give to those most important to me (including myself) what i truly want to give – being fully present.

stop doing all those “need to-dos” and become selfish. add selfishness into your life to become more, and be able to give more.  prioritize yourself for 5 minutes, 10 minutes, an hour, a whole day. prioritizing yourself reinvigorates and rejuvenates you.

you will be able to be fully present for yourself and for the other people most important in your life. and those pesky “need to-dos” get done too and don’t seem so pesky anymore.

what is it that you can do to become selfish? what have you wanted to do and haven’t done lately? take a walk, soak in the tub, read a book, go fishing, play a favorite game, get a massage, go out for coffee, enjoy a favorite hobby, enjoy a favorite sport, take a nap…

where am i? and where do i want to go?

there are many wants i have. many dreams and desires. i have many desires achieved now that i am living and experiencing. i have desires that are growing and expanding. i have dreams and desires that are experienced in little ways, and wanted in big ways. i have dreams and desires creating the vision of the life that i want to live.


in all these wants of mine, the biggest desire now is to be present. be present for myself, be present for those i am sharing the moment with.

i want to be aware of the experience, enjoying the experience. i want to be connected to my inner being and connected to who i may be with. i want to be me, free of masks. i want to enjoy others for their being, no expectations and no judging, connecting to their being.

present. being. connected. life. love.

wandering thoughts

interesting how thoughts can change so much and be so different. thoughts being felt and connected to. thoughts being wanted and desired. and these feeling and thoughts will be the complete opposites of previous thoughts. what is it that causes such different thoughts, feelings and wants?

is it a difference of thinking with mind or thinking with heart? is it a difference of energy felt and had in each experience? is it a difference of how present i am in each moment of these feelings and these thoughts?

what is it to live in the present moment? to live in the now moment?


is being in the present moment letting go of all thoughts? our minds wander so much in a day; thinking, analyzing, worrying and dreaming. what should we let go? what should we allow?

i want to be fully present in the moment, or thinking positively about what i want and what’s most important to me. i want to be connected to what’s most important to me and experiencing what bring me joy and love. i want to grow and expand with my dreams and desires. what part of this is being in the present moment?

i don’t think i can answer the question, the moment has changed. each moment is different, each experience is different. with each new moment and each new experience our thoughts will change and grow.

when i don’t like a thought i will choose to focus on the now moment. when i don’t like a thought i will choose to think positive about what i want and connect to that feeling. i will choose to make the positive feeling my now moment.

Today I am in overwhelm, positive, happy, love, joy and gratitude overwhelm.

I was listening to music that resonates with me. The lyrics touch me deep in my soul, for me and my life. What I want to live and what I am living.

Living in the moment. Of course there’s more that I want, we are always growing and we are always creating, but I have grown and have become and am living so much of what I want to live. I am overwhelmed with love and joy and gratitude for all that I have, all that I am living, all that I am experiencing.

And it’s just awesome! It’s small moments that are so important.


Being present with those most important to me. Being present enjoying what I am passionate about. Being present in my awareness and in experiencing my life journey.

So often I see what I want, what I want, what I want and I focus on, “this isn’t what I want, I want this…”. And that’s why I’m just loving the Sara Evans song right now. “Being right here in this moment, right here with you.”

I think about being in the moment with my kids and I have so many moments of love and joy and gratitude with them. And it’s overwhelming me today, and it’s amazing and I’m loving it and I’m so grateful for those moments and that I am aware of them.

I think about being in the moment with all my life, and what I want, and what I am already experiencing. And I am so grateful!

Where I am today, is bigger and better than I was yesterday.

Tomorrow I will be more than I am today.

Today I will live in present moment awareness! I am being who I want to be. I am doing what I want to do. I am experiencing what I want to experience. I am creating the life that I want to live!


I am so happy and grateful I am expanding and spiraling upward.

There are times when I am feeling negative emotions, times when I am judging myself for not being or doing. Those times are the best times to become present. To realize where I was, where I am and where I want to go.

When I can become aware of my present moment awareness, I can choose to live in the moment and choose to be and do what is most important to me. Choosing to be and do what is most important to me creates my becoming and expanding to who I want to be, doing what I want to do and experiencing what  I want to experience.

Challenges and Gratitude

My challenge right now is to be positive, there is so much that I want, and I’m feeling that there isn’t enough time to do it. Not enough time to do the things I think I need to do or should be doing for all that I want.

It is a challenge to stay present and focused on what is most important to me. I want to be happy, present and connected. I don’t want to feel rushed and thinking about what else I need to be doing or what I need to do next.


I want to be focused on what is most important to me and connected to my higher being.


I’m not feeling grateful in these moments. I’m not connected to what my vision is.

When I take a moment to connect with what I really want, I am able to feel gratitude. Being aware of what I want helps me to become aware of where I was, where I want to go and where I am.

I become present to the moment. I am able to focus on what is important in that moment. And I am always grateful for where I am and knowing that I am continually growing.

Enjoy the Journey

What is it that I expect? I expect to keep my goals in front of me more and more with positive thinking and choosing positive action. I expect to write weekly. I expect I will be more aware of my creating what I want, playing and experiencing life. I expect to be joyful and grateful, smiling and high energy. I expect to be living more in present moment awareness.

I am judging myself on what I am and what I am not getting done, good or bad, it just is. (Note to self, remember that, it just is!) I do want to be aware of where I am and where I want to go. I am busy and close to overwhelm many times. There are so many hours in a day, I can’t do all that I want to do right now. Take a breathe and focus on the now moment, let go of the judging, and do what is most important to me. What is my ‘now’ priority?

It is a challenge to do it all right now, sometimes I feel that I can’t do it all, I can’t have it all… that is doubt, I know I can! I know I will! It takes determination and persistence! Right now my balance is off (which it always is because I am constantly changing and growing). Because of my ever upward spiraling growth I will always be wanting to become more, do more and experience more. And that I am grateful for!

I want to be the best mom to my amazing kids and be involved in their activities and volunteering. I want to be a difference maker to others and empower them to live their truths. I want freedom to enjoy the abundance that is all around.

My kids are a priority to me. My wellbeing is a priority to me. My personal growth is a priority to me. Being a difference make is a priority to me. Financial security/independence/freedom is a priority to me.

dsc04446My emphasis should be in the present moment! Enjoying the journey! Being grateful for what I have and for what I am creating! Keeping my goals before me, taking the best action, choosing positive. Not judging what I don’t get done and crossed off my to-do list. That is how I want to live! Enjoying the journey and expanding! Being who I want to be, doing what I want to do, and experiencing what I want to experience.

I want to create that! I want to let go having it ALL now, which will never happen because I am an expanding being and as I get what I want, what I want expands and grows. I want to allow joy, serenity, freedom, abundance, and gratitude! I want to enjoy life fully! I want to enjoy the journey! I do not want to get stuck and caught up in the goal and judging what I did and didn’t do, losing focus of all that is. It is a balance of big picture and little picture, vision focus and small goal actions focus. Enjoy the journey.

I am expecting to live life fully! I am expecting to live in present moment awareness and enjoy the journey! I am expecting BIG creation! I expect it, no limits! I am part of an unlimited abundant Universe! And so it is!

Mom’s Rules

It seems like there are rules for everything. How to eat, how to workout, how to save money, how to spend money, how to work, how to sleep, how to live. Don’t do this, do that, do it this way.

My kids have ‘Mom’s Rules’, I always tell them – ‘choose to be happy’, ‘do your best’ and ‘have fun’. Life is meant to be lived, experienced and enjoyed! Below is a list of some ‘rules’ that I live my life by.

Erin’s Rules

  • Choose to be happy – You can choose to be happy and have a good day. It is your choice to react or respond in a way you want to be, do and live.
  • Do your best – Always do your best at whatever you are doing.
  • Be! Do! Live! – Be who you want to be, do what you want to do, and live how you want to live.
  • Enjoy the journey – Experience life fully! Happiness is enjoyed in life’s moments and experiences.
  • Love unconditionally – Love without judging.
  • Be curious – Explore, learn and imagine, let your imagination free.
  • Smile – A smile can brighten a day.
  • Have goals and visions – Goals are your life journey and give your life purpose.
  • Live in present moment awareness – Be present to what you are doing and who you are with.
  • Be positive – Having a positive attitude and positive thoughts create your positive results.

Living Life

Are you living your life? Or is life living you?

I recently had a couple of days of my life living me! Activities from many areas of my life were begging for my attention, I was feeling pulled in all directions at one time, wanting to focus on this area and this area, but oh what about this commitment and this activity, what about time with this person and that person?

We all have days that we live our life, guide our days and create the life we want to live. We all have days that our life is living us. Overwhelm is present, or just lurking around the corner; ready to overtake the day.

Here are some tips for you to LIVE YOUR LIFE rather than life living you.

To live your life, guiding your days and creating your life – be aware, let go and be present.

When your life is living you BE AWARE

  • Is the activity related to your goals?
  • Does the activity align with your values?
  • Is the activity a high priority?
  • Can the activity be released because of change, new awareness or growth?

When your life is living you LET GO

  • There are times when we need to let life lead
  • Go with the flow rather than resist what is coming at us
  • It is okay to focus on only one or two areas of your life for a short time
  • Balance happens throughout your life – one moment at a time, one day at a time, one week at a time, one year at a time

When your life is living you BE PRESENT

  • Do not fret about the past
  • Do not worry about the future
  • Focus on the task or activity in front of you now
  • By being present you will accomplish tasks quicker and be able to move to the next task accomplishing more in a day, week and year

Life does happen! Life is good! When we have days when life is living us – we can be aware, we can let go, and we can be present! We can begin living our lives, guiding our days and creating the life we want to live from that moment!

Present Moment Awareness

Living in present moment awareness is being focused with your full attention to what you are doing NOW, in the now moment. Right now, you are reading, are you focused on the words meaning and allowing new knowledge, ideas, growth and being? Or are you thinking about what you were doing 2 minutes ago, or what happened this morning, or yesterday. Maybe you are thinking about what you have to accomplish yet today, worrying about what you need to do next so that you can cross off as many items as you possibly can from your to-do list. I admit when I am reading emails and newsletters there are many times when I am not focused on what I am reading and what I can be learning or how I can be growing from the information contained in the words. The BIG question is – what other activities are you participating in that you are not focused on, you are not being in present moment awareness? Your sons basketball game, a conference meeting, a conversation with a loved family member, a work project, a walk outdoors, eating your dinner, your rejuvenation time, or your time with your wife husband and kids.

You can live in present moment awareness, it is your choice to live in present moment awareness. You have your vision and know what you want, you have created definite goals to grow become and do what you want, and you have clarified your values for your foundation and guidance. You know where you currently are and where it is you are going. You are aware and you can be present in the moment. Enjoy the NOW moment of the activity you are doing. Each moment will lead to the next moment, and you will transition to new activities as your values, goals, priorities and vision guide you. Your awareness of the moment and living in present moment awareness will allow you to grow and become, and enjoy the journey!

Enjoying the journey with your awareness of who you are and who you want to be, your vision and goals allows for your growth in the present moment. Not looking ahead with a feeling of lack and wanting, doubt and worry. Not looking behind with feelings of remorse or regret, guilt or wishing to change the past. Focusing in present moment awareness and living here and now – learning and adjusting, growing and becoming – who you want to BE, what you want to DO and how you want to LIVE!
