You First

Do you please other first? or yourself first?

Pleasing others before yourself and trying to make others happy is something that many people do. It is most important to do what pleases you and what is in alignment with your values. Doing what’s most important to you gives you energy and enthusiasm to do what you want for others. Doing what’s most important to you is taking care of yourself so that you can take care of the most important people in your life.

Pleasing yourself first is a small difference, but a very significant difference. Giving yourself some pleasure, just starting with 5 minutes a day, gives you a boost of energy and enthusiasm for the other activities you choose for your life. When you put yourself first, the activities you have chosen remain a joy to you, and don’t become a burden and a weight on your shoulders.

Do something for yourself each day. You can begin with taking 5 minutes for something that you enjoy. What do you enjoy? Is it reading, yoga, drawing, dancing, sitting silently with coffee, connecting to the Earth outside, writing, sewing, doing a puzzle, chatting with a friend, finding a new recipe on the internet, or learning to juggle? Choose something you enjoy and do it for 5 minutes today.

I am overwhelming myself with all that I want to do and with all that I think I have to do.

It is time for me to take a moment and prioritize, to refocus.

  • What is most important to me?
  • What can I let go?
  • Will doing this empower me?
  • Will doing this empower others?
  • How will doing this make me feel?
  • What do I truly want?
  • What can I leverage?
  • What can I change?
  • Who do I want to be?
  • What do I want to do?
  • What do I want to experience?

These questions help me to refocus my energy on what is most important to me. There are “busy work” things that I do need to do for living my life, but when I have thought about my priorities and connected to what’s most important to me I shift to doing with a sense of urgency.

I am able to let go the overwhelm and anxiousness I was feeling and allow the desire and positive energy feelings into my doing. I feel happy and grateful for all that I have that creates my to do list.

With this shift I am able to do more, to accomplish more, my energy isn’t wasted on worrying and doubt.

I ask myself, “What do I truly want?” and “What is most important to me?”

I have been distracted from being and doing what I truly and what is most important to me. I have been distracted by big things and little things.

I’ve known what  I want, but I haven’t taken action. I haven’t been trusting to the knowing of what I want.

I do not have to be scared. I do not have to please others and fit into their image of me.

I have to be who I want to be! Abundant and free! Living in truth and creating the life that I want to live!

Are you doing what you truly want? Are you doing what is most important to you?

Be who you want to be! Do what you want to do!

let go control

I choose to live in present moment awareness and do what is most important. When I choose to live in present moment awareness and do what is most important it creates a serene day with a sense of urgency which is calm and collected, a focused way of living and experiencing the day.

When I am trying to control and do do do, that creates overwhelm.

I can’t control anything but my feelings and choices. I can be aware of what I am choosing and choose to feel positive.

Letting go control and doing my best, allowing the moment and trusting God, the Universe, is how I want to live. There is so much that I want to do and want to prioritize. I need to be aware that I am not super mom or super woman and I can’t do it all and have it all right now. (still, I really really want it – but I know that the growth and journey to achieving all that I want is so much more!)

So I choose to be and do what is most important in the now moment and living in present moment awareness. I choose to do my best at what is most important at the time. I choose to trust the Universe is creating all that I want.

I can let go and be patient. I can live in faith and trust.

I enjoy the journey in the preset moment.

What’s Most Important to You?

What is most important to you?

Family, being outside, enjoying your hobby, health, exercise and nutrition, wealth, abundance, freedom, giving, making a difference?

Why is what you chose most important to you? What do you want to feel having and/or enjoying what is most important to you?

Are you experiencing what is most important to you?

I have been asking myself these questions as I feel change coming towards me in my life. I don’t know what or how the change is going to be, how big a change it will be, but I feel it. There are things that I am unsatisfied with, and for me to continue living my truth, I need to be sure that I am doing what is most important to me.

We are growing and changing all the time, every day, every moment. Are you allowing the flow of growth and change, or are you fighting and blocking it? I ask myself this, when I ask myself, “Am I doing what’s most important to me?”

I’m doing a lot of what’s important to me, I am enjoying many pieces of my life, but there is more for me to enjoy. There is more that I want to do, more that I want to be, and more that I want to experience so that I am doing what is most important to me now.

And so I ask myself, “What can I do to enjoy what is most important to me?” And, “Who can I be so that I am doing what is most important to me?”

“We are always becoming, we are always creating. Today I am more than I was yesterday, tomorrow I am more than I am today.”

Where are you?

Where are you? Do you know where you are in your life right now?

Are you where you want to be? Are you doing what you want to do?

To get to where you want to be you need to know where it is that you are starting from. Do you know where you are?

Knowing your values and your priorities gets you to where you want to go.

Your values are your foundation and guidance system. When you know what your values are and what they mean to you, you make choices that are in alignment with who you are and that guide you to where you want to be.

Your priorities help you to know what to focus on, what to give your energy to. When you know your priorities you guide your day and take action to grow and become who you want to be and do what you want to do.

Stephen Covey says “(Values) are the source of our passions in life, and they help us determine where we focus our energies.”

Your values are a belief that is meaningful to you.

  • What makes you happy?
  • What gets you excited?
  • What activities do you enjoy doing?

Do you know what your values are? Define your values, know where you are, and then make choices to go where you want to go – being who you want to be, doing what you want to do and experiencing what you want to experience!
