going around in circles

Values are the foundation for living happy successful lives.

You deserve happiness, abundance and health. The key to your happiness is you. When you know your values, and live your life by your values, you are a happier and healthier person. Often people live their lives without knowing their values and they make decisions based on other people’s expectations. When people make decisions this way they aren’t living the life they are meant to live! They are unhappy and live a life of lack, of wanting more in one or more areas of their lives.

I used to live my life without knowing my values. I wasn’t living my truth. I wasn’t being the me that I wanted to be, I wasn’t doing what I wanted to do, and I wasn’t living how I wanted to live.

Have you ever been in a canoe on a windy day, and paddling just didn’t seem to get you anywhere? I’ve been in a canoe on a windy day, and my paddling wasn’t getting me anywhere. The canoe would go this way and that way. I was facing the wrong direction. I tried to correct my direction by turning the canoe. I was going in a new direction but it still wasn’t the direction that I wanted to go. I was going around in circles and not getting anywhere.

This is how my life felt when I wasn’t living by my values. I made decisions based on what was expected of me, or what I thought was expected of me. I didn’t have my values clearly defined and written down. I didn’t have significant goals for myself in all areas of my life.

It was like the canoe going in all different directions but the direction that I wanted it to. I was going around in circles in my life.

When I was in the canoe on that windy day, it was a challenge for me to get the canoe going in the right direction without making some major changes. I had to trim the canoe, to find a better balance from where to paddle. I turned myself around in the canoe so that I paddled backward to move forward. After struggling, I found my balance and was able to move in the direction that I wanted to more easily and steadily.

My balance was off in my life as well. I was unhappy and unhealthy.

I gradually realized that I wasn’t living by my values, and what my values meant to me. I read a book, ‘The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People’ by Stephen Covey. I clarified my values, I wrote my values down along with what the value meant to me. I set significant goals in all areas of my life.

I found my balance and started growing in the direction that I wanted to go. I started being who I wanted to be, doing what I wanted to do and living how I wanted to live!

I took responsibility for my life. I am happy and harmonious with my mind at peace with my heart.

Values are a belief that is meaningful to you. Values are priorities that tell you how to spend your time, right here, right now. Stephen Covey says, “(values) are the source of our passions in life, and they help us determine where we focus our energies.”

When you know your values and what they mean to you; creating goals and making decisions are easier. Your values are your guidance system.

And like finding the balance in a canoe on a windy day, knowing your values is like finding your balance for your life. You choose to live by your values, and living by your values creates your happy and harmonious life.

Living My Truth

I used to live my life without knowing my values. I wasn’t living my truth. I was going in all different directions than the direction that I wanted to go.

I was going around in circles in my life. Not being who I wanted to be (always holding myself back to please someone else), not doing what I wanted to do, not experiencing what I wanted to experience.

I wasn’t living by my values, and I didn’t know where I was or where exactly I wanted to go. I made decisions based on what was expected of me, or what I thought was expected of me.

I lived my life waiting for life to happen to me. Often living for the days end and tomorrows beginning.

I made excuses for why I wasn’t being who I wanted to be, doing what I wanted to do, or experiencing what I wanted to experience.

I was doing less and less of what I enjoyed. More and more I was feeling worry, doubt, fear, anxiety, stress or overwhelm.

I gradually realized that I wasn’t living by my values. I had a vague idea of what my values were. I clarified my values and defined my values. I started growing in the direction that I wanted, no more going around in circles.

I started being who I want to be, doing what I want to do, and experiencing what I wanted to experience.

Today I am happy and harmonious with my mind at peace with my heart. I wake with enthusiasm, energy and excitement to play and experience a new day. I enjoy the journey of living a fulfilling life.

I go to sleep feeling filled with joy and gratitude for the day and for my life journey. I am excited and enthusiastic to create the life of my dreams.

I am a different person, I took control of my life. I took responsibility for who I wanted to be, what I wanted to do, what I wanted to experience and how I wanted to feel.

I stopped conforming and started creating the life that I want to live. I started living by my values. I knew where I was and where I wanted to go.

I am no longer living to survive the day, waiting for life to happen to me, waiting for the days end and tomorrows beginning. I am no longer going around in circles.

I am enjoying the twists and turns, the rapids and smooth waters, and all the stops along the way of my life journey. I am living my truth!

Vision and Create Your Life

“The only person who succeeds is the person who is progressively realizing a worthy idea.” ~Earl Nightingale

Your worthy ideal is what you define it to be, the vision you have of the person you want to be, what you want to do, what you want to experience, how you want to feel. Your worthy ideal is your visions for living the life of your dreams and desires.

createabundanceheader

Your worthy ideal is all about you. What is most important to you, what fulfills you, what do you enjoy? Who do you want to be, what do you want to do, what do you want to experience?

Do you have the visions of living your dreams and desires in your mind? Do you imagine how you want to live? Imagination begins the creating of the life that you want to live.

“Thoughts become things. If you see it in your mind, you will hold it in your hand.” ~Bob Proctor

Life is a journey! It is not the destination that brings growth, peace and happiness, it is your journey and experiences, your values and goals guiding and directing you to achieve your vision, that bring excitement and energy, your happiness and success into your life.

Living your truth is being who you want to be, doing what you want to do and living how you want to live by knowing yourself deeply. Knowing your vision and what you want to experience. Creating a life that is happy and harmonious, fulfilling and successful, and you enjoying your life journey.

Are you living your truth? Are you imagining who you want to be? Are you visualizing what you want to do? Are you experiencing what you want to experience? Are you living and creating the life you want to live? Live your truth!

Awareness

Living your truth begins with Awareness.

Knowing where you are and where you want to go. Knowing who you want to BE! Knowing what you want to DO! Knowing what you want to EXPERIENCE! Knowing how you want to LIVE!

“If I want to be free, I’ve got to be me. Not the me I think you think I should be. Not the me I think my wife thinks I should be. Not the me I think my kids think I should be. If I want to be free, I’ve got to be me.” ~Bill Gove

Knowing yourself and where you want to go is knowing what you value. Values are a belief that is meaningful to you. Values align with who you are. Values help you to determine your priorities and what is most important to you.

Is the way that you are living now in alignment with your values?

Is who you want to be, what you want to do, and what you want to experience something that you value?

Personal Growth

I am very enthusiastic and energetic about my personal growth. It is something that I am passionate about and is one of my core values.

I am eager to do activities, workshops and learn. I am curious about myself, my wellbeing and growth and expansion.

I love reading and studying and always have more than one book that I am currently reading about personal growth. I listen to positive, motivational and inspirational audios.

books

I have routines in the morning and evening for me to focus on being positive, keeping my goals dreams and desires in front of me in the NOW moments. I am aware of my feelings and choose positive with gratitude, imagining and visualizing.

I want to learn, grow and expand every day!

6 years ago I was a different person. I didn’t have routines, I wasn’t reading personal growth books or listening to positive audios. I didn’t know my core values and what they mean to me. I didn’t know much of what I truly wanted. I didn’t have goals and visions for my dreams and desires, I barely had dreams and desires.

I read ‘The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People’ by Stephen Covey and it changed my life! I clarified and defined my core values, I created and defined goals for all areas of my life.

I’ve reached a lot of those goals. My goals, dreams and desires have changed, grown and expanded.

vision board 2

I enjoy my life journey of growth and expansion. I enjoy being who I want to be, doing what I want to do and experiencing what I want to experience. I enjoy living my truth!

What are you doing to grow and expand? What are your dreams and desires?

Decisions, decisions

Life can give us times when we have to make tough decisions. Life can give us moments when we have to choose between two things that we want. How do you decide what to choose?

How do you feel when you make decisions? Do you feel positive or negative? Do you feel tight in your body or free in your body?

Have you ever thought about making decisions and how you feel? Why do you feel what you feel when making a choice?

“Values are critical guides for making decisions. When in doubt, they cut through the fog like a beacon in the night.” ~Robert Townsend

Have you ever made a decision that didn’t feel right? You felt that edge of uneasiness, anxiety, stress, worry, or tension in your body. Did that decision align with what is most important to you?

Have you ever made a decision and if felt like the weight of the world had just been lifted off your shoulders? You felt happy, radiant, abundant and free in your body. Did that decision align with what is most important to you?

Values are a belief that is meaningful to you. Values are what is most important to you.

When you make decisions by what is most important to you, you are being guided by and living by your values.

When you know what your values are and live by your values you are much happier and more harmonious. When you live by your values you are creating the life that you want to live. You are living your truth.

Live Your Truth!

Where are you?

Where are you? Do you know where you are in your life right now?

Are you where you want to be? Are you doing what you want to do?

DSC04446

To get to where you want to be you need to know where it is that you are starting from. Do you know where you are?

Knowing your values and your priorities gets you to where you want to go.

Your values are your foundation and guidance system. When you know what your values are and what they mean to you, you make choices that are in alignment with who you are and that guide you to where you want to be.

Your priorities help you to know what to focus on, what to give your energy to. When you know your priorities you guide your day and take action to grow and become who you want to be and do what you want to do.

Stephen Covey says “(Values) are the source of our passions in life, and they help us determine where we focus our energies.”

Your values are a belief that is meaningful to you.

  • What makes you happy?
  • What gets you excited?
  • What activities do you enjoy doing?

Do you know what your values are? Define your values, know where you are, and then make choices to go where you want to go – being who you want to be, doing what you want to do and experiencing what you want to experience!

Time Gets Away

Time gets away from me. Does it get away from you? I get a to-do list that seems to be a mile long, I add more to the list than I cross off the list.

I get overwhelmed thinking about all I want to do, thinking about all I should do and thinking about all that I could do. I feel negative wanting, the lack of what I want to have and experience. I get overwhelmed and worried in the day, and doubting my goals and visions.

I think one step, two steps and ten steps ahead. I plan my day, trying to control every hour and minute from the time that I wake up in the morning and at night judge myself for all that I did not get done. I am not in the present moment.

Do you ever feel this way?

To get in the present moment and feeling positive wanting, belief and gratitude for your goals and visions:

  • Take a deep calming breath with your eyes closed. Center yourself, connect to yourself, or quiet your mind for a moment.
  • Prioritize what is most important to you in this day. Say ‘no’ to what you can to say ‘yes’ to what you want. Cross off activities that do not align with your values, goals and visions. Ask for help for the activities that you can.
  • Make yourself a priority so that you are in a state of wellbeing and can do all that you want to do. Take time for rest and rejuvenation. Take time for physical activity and mental/intellectual activities. Taking five minutes for yourself to quiet your mind or do something that you enjoy is rejuvenating. Taking time for physical activity releases stress. Taking time for yourself increases your positive energy and allows you to do what you want.
  • Celebrate and be grateful for all that you have done and accomplished.

Choose to be present in the moment. You can be aware of what you want to do in the day, being aware of what your next priority/activity is and be focused on your current activity with positive wanting, belief and gratitude. Be Present!
