I was asked a good question, “What advice would you give somebody beginning their life journey, to live life fully?” What an amazing question! And the advice I give is for you, for me, and for everyone any age, experiencing any part of your life journey.

Each day, each moment is a new beginning to live life fully! Each moment is a new beginning to be who you want to be, do what you want to do and to live how you want to live!

To live your life fully; enjoy your journey, learn and experience the things that make you happy, and create your life doing those things that make you happy.

Learn and Experience Your Happiness
Experience many things to learn what makes you happy and what you enjoy doing the most. When you learn what you love, do more of it. Continue growing and expanding, enjoying your journey, by experiencing new things.

Create Your Life
Create and live your life doing the things that make you happy. Do not conform to others. Live your life by your values and goals, not by someone else’s expectations or goals for you. Live your life being who you want to be, doing what you want to do and living how you want to live!

Mom’s Rules

It seems like there are rules for everything. How to eat, how to workout, how to save money, how to spend money, how to work, how to sleep, how to live. Don’t do this, do that, do it this way.

My kids have ‘Mom’s Rules’, I always tell them – ‘choose to be happy’, ‘do your best’ and ‘have fun’. Life is meant to be lived, experienced and enjoyed! Below is a list of some ‘rules’ that I live my life by.

Erin’s Rules

  • Choose to be happy – You can choose to be happy and have a good day. It is your choice to react or respond in a way you want to be, do and live.
  • Do your best – Always do your best at whatever you are doing.
  • Be! Do! Live! – Be who you want to be, do what you want to do, and live how you want to live.
  • Enjoy the journey – Experience life fully! Happiness is enjoyed in life’s moments and experiences.
  • Love unconditionally – Love without judging.
  • Be curious – Explore, learn and imagine, let your imagination free.
  • Smile – A smile can brighten a day.
  • Have goals and visions – Goals are your life journey and give your life purpose.
  • Live in present moment awareness – Be present to what you are doing and who you are with.
  • Be positive – Having a positive attitude and positive thoughts create your positive results.
  • Take care of yourself – Put yourself first, emotionally mentally and physically.
  • Grow – Continually become better, being who you want to be and doing what you want to do.
  • Believe in yourself – You can be, do and have anything that you desire.
  • Play! Create! Live! – Play with life and create the life that you want to live.
  • Be active – Move your body.
  • Quiet your mind – Allow your mind to free itself of all thought.
  • Enjoy nature – Connect to Earth’s beauty and magnificence.
  • Be grateful – Feeling gratitude for your experiences attracts positive to you.
  • Have fun – Enjoy what you are doing. Laugh out loud. Be silly. Be free.

Growth and Expansion

Maybe sometimes you have to go backward to move forward?

I’m growing and expanding my saying ‘no’ characteristic and I wonder if moving backward is moving forward. I wonder if I’m more aware of my will power and discipline as I grow than I was before. Am I feeling that I’m moving backward away from my goal, instead of feeling that I’m moving forward to my goal, where I want to be, because I’ve grown?

Gratitude and appreciation

There is a balance to enjoy the journey in the want and the desire to achieve your vision, your goals, and your growth. Your want and desire are continually growing and expanding with you.

In the gratitude, in appreciating what is, for what you’ve accomplished you grow and expand. Having gratitude and appreciation for your life experiences – who you’re being, for what you’re doing, for how you’re living, and why you’re becoming who you want to be doing what you want to do and living how you want to live – guide you to thinking about your vision and goals.

When you are thinking about your vision and goals, you are open to growth and expansion. Earl Nightingale said in the ‘The Strangest Secret’, “It stands to reason that a person who is thinking about a concrete and worthwhile goal is going to reach it, because that’s what he’s thinking about. And we become what we think about.” As we become who we want to be, doing what we want to do and living how we want to live – an expanded desire or a new desire is born.

Growth

As you reach goals and visions, as you experience your life journey, you grow and as you grow your perception changes. A feeling of moving backward to move forward is a part of growth and expansion, its feeling the natural ebb and flow of growth. You realize your want and desire, you change and grow to achieve your want and desire, and you continue to grow expanding your wants and desires into a bigger want and a new bigger desire from your new perspective.

Expansion

Burning Desire

I’ve been thinking about my purpose and passion and my ‘burning desire’. Right now I feel I need to ‘fan the flames’, my desire is not a ‘burning desire’ right now. I feel that I’m holding myself back somewhere somehow, I’m scared of the changes and the transformation I will experience to attain my goals and visions. I’m at a point of living on the edge – which is where I want to be, and that I need to take the risk – which is what I want to do! I am at the point of pushing my comfort zone – and I need to push through, rather than stop or slow down – which is what I feel like I’ve done.

What causes me, or you, to stop or slow down in reaching for your visions and taking action on your goals?

  • Desire is not high, it’s not a burning desire right now
  • Not keeping your goals in front of you
  • Not having strong and focused visions and visualization
  • A shift in priorities

You can take action to create a ‘burning desire’ and live your life filled with purpose and passion. You can take action to live the life you want and move forward expanding and growing, being who you want to be and doing what you want to do.

  • Create good habits to empower your being and doing – affirmations, mediation to quiet your mind, yoga, working out, visualizing visions, gratitude, journaling, smiling
  • Modify your goals and actions to be aligned with your visions for your transformation and growth
  • Live by your truth and values, live by how you want to feel and allow yourself to enjoy the journey!
  • Time activity management – keep your goals before you and plan your day the evening before prioritizing your goals and actions allowing you to be present
  • Say ‘no’ to keep your goals and actions aligned with your priorities and visions
  • Grow – learn new things, expand your knowledge and study what you’re passionate about
  • Positive thinking – think about what you really want, replace thoughts of lack with positive thoughts of your visions and goals
  • Well being – be physically active and allow for rest and rejuvenation
  • Spend time with positive people that enhance and empower your life!
  • Act as if it were impossible to fail!

I have changes and growth I can take to create and increase my ‘burning desire’. I’m learning to say ‘no’ to what doesn’t align with my truth and visions, and say ‘yes’ to my visions and action goals. I am creating the habit of daily meditation to quiet my mind and strengthen my focus.

Live your truth!

Vision

Living your truth is knowing who you are – and living in alignment with who you are. It is knowing what your values are, what your goals are and whats your vision for the life you want to live. Do you have a clear vision, an image in your mind, of who you want to be, what you want to do and how you want to live?

Vision is the image of the person you want to BE, what you want to DO and how you want to LIVE. Jesse Stoner Semel said this about vision, “A vision is a clearly-articulated, results-oriented picture of the future you intend to create. It is a dream with direction.”

Create your vision and build the image in your mind. Your goals are made from your values, your guidance system, to achieve your vision. Once you have your goals in clearly defined statements; read your goals daily, think about them and keep them in front of you. When you focus on your goals, you will take action, and you will achieve what you are thinking about!

Goals are the seeds that you plant in your mind, your mind is like soil. Define your goals and feel a burning desire to achieve your vision and goals. Keep your mind positive as you think about your goals and imagine yourself having achieved your vision.

Taking action to achieve your goals is like watering the seed, encouraging your goal to become and to be by accomplishing goal achieving tasks every day. Henry David Thoreau said, “If a person advances, confidently in the direction of their dreams, and endeavors to live the life they have imagined, they will meet with success unexpected in common hours.”

Visualizing and imagining your goals is like sunlight for the seed. Let your imagination go wild and free, dream and dream BIG. Imagination allows you to be open to new ideas, new creativity and more expansion. Imagination is all the infinite possibilities in reality. Napoleon Hill wrote in his book Think and Grow Rich, “…imagination is the most marvelous, miraculous, inconceivably powerful force the world has ever known.”

As your goals grow becoming your vision, negative thoughts, like weeds will begin to pop up around your goals. When you become aware of negative feelings or negative thoughts, they are an indication to you that you desire for things to be different, to be changed. When you become aware of this desire that is causing negative doubt and worry, focus on your goals. Think about your goals and how you will feel when you achieve your goals and vision. Earl Nightingale says, “It stands to reason that a person who is thinking about a concrete and worthwhile goal is going to reach it, because that’s what he’s thinking about. And we become what we think about.”

Feeling the emotions of gratitude is like loving the seed that is planted. Feel the gratitude you will feel having achieved your goals NOW. Why do you want to achieve your goals, your vision? Become emotionally involved, see yourself as having already achieved your goals and vision; this creates the attraction, manifestation, desire, motivation and action within you to achieve your goals and vision.

Life is a journey! It is not the destination that brings growth, peace and happiness – it is your journey and experiences, your values and goals guiding and directing you to achieve your vision, that bring excitement and energy, your happiness and success into your life.

Are you living your truth? Are your choices and decisions made to live by your values, to achieve your goals and vision? Are you being who you want to be? Are you doing what you want to do? Are you living how you want to live?

Goals

Goals bring meaning to your life. Goals are the journeys and experiences that fill your life with what is most important to you. Goals are growth of becoming who you want to be, doing what you want to do, and living how you want to live. Goals are the path to living your live with purpose and passion.

When you know your values and what they mean to you creating significant and achievable goals is easier, your values are your guidance system. Earl Nightingale said in The Strangest Secret, “People with goals succeed because they know where they are going.”

How do you want to change and grow? Do you have goals for all areas of your life? Asking yourself the following questions helps you to set significant goals for all areas of your life.

  • Who do I want to be?
  • What do I want to do?
  • What do I want to achieve?
  • What do I want to give?
  • What does success mean to me?
  • What would make my life a success?
  • How do I want to live my life?
  • What are my dreams?
  • Does this goal align with my values?
  • Does this goal, and thinking about the achievement of this goal, give me positive feelings?

It is important to set specific goals for all areas of your life; intellectual and personal growth, relationships and recreation, financial, business/career, family, God/spiritual, health and well being, and giving back. Setting goals for all areas of your life helps give balance to your happy and harmonious life.

To achieve your vision, you take action on goals in all areas of your life. Every journey and goal is different; you do not know what your challenges will be, or when you will be challenged. Goals are like ripples in water; one expanding into another affecting and joining one another. The effort and energy required to take action on your vision and goals can and will change.

Creating goals is what moves you forward in life. You know where you currently are, and where it is you want to be. As you become who you want to BE, are doing what you want to DO, and living how you want to LIVE; your goals and awareness will grow and expand. You live your life with purpose and passion. Life is growth; and goals give you the journeys and experiences for your growth and living a full happy successful life achieving your vision and dreams.

Values

Living your truth is knowing who you are – and living in alignment with who you are. It is knowing what your values are, what your goals are and what’s your vision for the life you want to live. Do you know your values? Are you living your life by your values?

Values are your foundation for living happy successful lives. You deserve happiness, abundance and health, and the key to your happiness is you. When you know your values, and live your life by your values, you are a happier and healthier person. Often people live their lives without knowing their values and they make decisions based on other people’s expectations. When people make decisions this way they aren’t living the life they are meant to live! They are unhappy and live a life of lack, of wanting more in their lives. It feels like you are living life out-of-balance or like going around in circles and not getting anywhere.

How often do you make a choice or decision that just doesn’t feel right, you feel an edge of uneasiness, and tension in your body. Did the decision, the choice, you made align with your values? Chances are that it didn’t. When decisions and choices are made in alignment with your values – you feel happiness, success, abundance, and free in your body.

Knowing your values helps bring balance and freedom to your life. You choose to live by your values and living by your values creates your happy and harmonious life. Values are a belief that is meaningful to you. Values are your foundation and guidance system. Stephen Covey says “(Values) are the source of our passions in life, and they help us determine where we focus our energies.

What three things do you value most? What do these values mean to you? It is important and worthwhile for you to reflect and put in writing your values and what the values meaning is to you.

What makes you happy? What makes you smile and laugh? What is important to you? What activities do you enjoy? What motivates you? What fills you with peace, joy, and love? What makes you anxious? Worry, doubt, and fear? Why?

When you know your values and what they mean to you; creating goals and making decisions are easier, your values are your guidance system. Knowing your values creates your foundation and helps you to create significant and achievable goals. Living by your values creates your happy successful life!
